Innovation Project Leaders
(IPL) Course

This course is for Problem Solvers. Leaders in today’s world need the skills to rapidly sort through all the ‘good ideas’ to find and deliver the solution people need. This is the skill set successful innovators use to change the world. IPL students learn how to apply these skills in the public sector to make a difference now. Students who complete this course can apply the scientific method to solve new product development and process development challenges. Graduates demonstrate research skills to clearly define customer problems, create hypotheses to conduct product-market fit experiments and analyze experimental results to provide evidence-based solutions. The course is taught in both self-paced and instructor-led, virtual formats in partnership with North Carolina State University. The self-paced course is 8 weeks in length and the instructor led course is offered in 4 week, 8 week and 15 week cohorts. Graduates receive a co-branded digital credential from BMNT and NC State. Airmen who complete the instructor led course are eligible for the Complex Problem Solving Special Experience Identifier (SEI 9IE).

Certificate Program

This course starts tomorrow’s innovators on their journey and puts the entire workforce on common ground for solving hard problems. Students who complete this program will gain a broad understanding of the problem solving methods taught to future innovators and entrepreneurs at colleges around the world. The program is designed to foster cultural change by establishing a common understanding about innovation concepts across the workforce. The program contains 4 self-paced courses: Making Products People Want, Innovation Theories, Lean Experimentation and Defense Acquisitions. The courses are available as for-academic-credit and are covered by Tuition Assistance or Veterans Administration funding like the GI Bill or Veteran Readiness and Employment (Ch. 31)
